Requirements :
Matric plus NQF level 6 in Environmental Health/ Safety Management or equivalent qualification, coupled with 1-2 years’ experience in a relevant environment. Competencies: Strategic Planning; Human Resource Management; Leadership Techniques; Finance Knowledge; Project Management; Training in Emergency Management Systems; Knowledge of electric equipment and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming and installation and troubleshooting; knowledge of group behaviour and dynamics; knowledge of societal systems and influences, human migration. A valid driver’s license.
Duties :
Ensure legislative compliance during development of disaster emergency response, contingency procedures and ensure compliance by PDMC; Develop events safety specifications to guide municipalities and sectors on safety measures; Conduct evacuation drills, dry runs, simulations, inspection and advice on layout plans during events; Draw up guidelines for events safety specifications for the Province; Ensure legislative compliance during development of disaster emergency response, contingency procedures and ensure compliance by PDMC; Develop safety specifications for events in the province in terms of Safety at Sports and Recreational Events Act; Promote health and safety measures in the workplace; Ensure safety and compliance of the PDMC as per (OHS Act); Provide guidance and assist in development of layout plan for events; Ensure availability of safety equipment and occupational health during events; Draft Emergency/ Evacuation plan for the PDMC; Inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment and processes in the PDMC to ensure compliance on OHS Act; Provide advice and guidance to managers and all employees in respect of safety measures; Maintain relevant HSE logs, documentation and prepare applicable reports; Draft submission; Develop standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s); Drafting of SHEQ quarterly reports; and Participate in JOC, VOC meetings.
