Requirements :

An appropriate Diploma / Degree in Nursing. Ten (10) years’ experience in the health sector of which five (5) years must have been in Child health (IMCI, EPI, MBFI and child PIP, GMP and Pediatric HIV) at an Assistant Director level. A Master Degree in child health will be an added advantage. Good understanding of the health sector spheres (National, Provincial, and District levels). Demonstrate ability and competence to interpret legislation, policy, and strategy as well as capacity priority IMCI, EPI, MBFI and child PIP, GMP, and coordinate recommendations from COMMIC. Must have appropriate working experience and understanding of this field. An experience in IMCI, EPI, MBFI, and child PIP, GMP, and reporting is expected. Must be able to work independently, have good interpersonal relations, good organizational, and coordination skills. Must demonstrate potential to work under extreme pressure. Must have a valid driver’s licence. Must be computer literate and have the ability to produce reports using excel, word, and PowerPoint. Reporting structure: will report directly to the Director: MCH EPI ISHP and Nutrition.

Duties :

Monitor and respond to targets on Expanded Programme on Immunization and Child Health, prioritize decreasing and preventing child deaths and disease due to failure to immunize and not following treatment protocols. Conduct and support supervisory visits to all reporting units to ensure compliance to set targets. Conduct meetings with Districts to ensure compliance and providing feedback. Ensure training of District EPI and Child health coordinators to inform them about the latest developments in EPI and Child Health. Submission of monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports to the Director on EPI and Child health.
