A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Speech and Audiology, Speech Therapy, Audiology, Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy. A minimum of 12 years appropriate experience after registration with HPCSA as independent practitioner in the relevant profession, of which 7 years must be appropriate experience in management/supervisory position. Post graduate qualification will be an added advantage. Applicants are expected to submit a certified copy of their current HPCSA Annual registration card and HPCSA independent Practice Certificate. Applicants must be in possession of a valid South African driver’s licence, must be able to work under pressure, have strong leadership and management skills, good verbal and written communication skills, sound interpersonal skills, change management skills, project management skills, Client Orientation and Customer Focus skills, financial and human resource management skills. Applicants should be prepared to undergo competency-based assessment, pre-employment and periodic medical surveillance as part of the employment conditions. Computer literacy. Ability to work independently, and in a multidisciplinary context. Analytic thinking, independent decision making and problem-solving skills. Must be willing to travel extensively within the district and Gauteng Province.
Provide strategic direction for Rehabilitation services in the province. Integrate Rehabilitation services within priority Programmes. Develop/implement a strategic plan and operational plan for rehabilitation services. Develop, reviews and facilitate implementation of rehabilitation policy guidelines, protocols and SOP in line with the national and provincial health system. Ensure compliance with all legislative directives, guidelines and protocols with regards to rehabilitation clinical governance. Promote evidence-based practice and improve the skills of the rehabilitation workforce. Collaborate with academic and other relevant stakeholders. Coordination of placement of students and community service professionals. Strengthen governance, leadership and management capacity of rehabilitation managers. Implement mentorship programme to strengthen supervision and support of junior staff. Leads and direct quality management activities for rehabilitation services. Monitor and support Ideal Clinic/Hospital assessment Programme & Quality improvement initiatives. Utilize health information technology and other health information systems to manage rehabilitation services information. Monitoring and evaluation of rehabilitation services and implementation of research projects. Manage and utilize human resources in accordance with relevant directives and legislation. Foster a culture of improvement and development for the whole rehabilitation services workforce. To provide financial planning and management accounting. Effective management of NPO.
