Grade 12 certificate. Registration with SA Pharmacy Council as a qualified Pharmacist assistant post basic. Experience: Grade 1; no experience required after registration with SAPC as a Pharmacist Assistant Post Basic. Grade 2, a minimum of 5 years appropriate experience after registration with the SAPC as a Pharmacist Assistant Post Basic. Grade 3, a minimum of 13 years appropriate experience after registration as a Pharmacist Assistant Post Basic with the SAPC. Basic communication skills, good interpersonal skills, basic administrative skills e.g. filling, record keeping, basic calculation skills, basic computer skills, basic literacy skills, record keeping skills, basic research/data collection and analysis skills, basic teamwork skills, basic technical work skills, time management skills, basic problem solving and decision making skills.
To understand and comply with all relevant legislation and policies to provide a quality cost effective service, including HR and Finance requirements. Observe all Batho Pele principles and ensure adherence to six ministerial priorities. Do stock Ordering, stock control and distribution of medicines to all outlets (including PHC clinics) we are serving. Do Pre-packing, Manufacturing and compounding. Do wards inventory management, Dispensing and the provision of information to individuals. Do recordings keeping, documentation and reporting. Be part of the monitoring and evaluation teams. Assist with projects as identified in the pharmacy. Take effective and appropriate steps to prevent, any unauthorized expenditure, irregular expenditure and fruitless and wasteful expenditure. Perform any legitimate task requested for provision of pharmaceutical care. Be willing and involved in clinical trials as and when a need arise. Be willing to work at the service points where you are needed the most and at the time when you are needed the most. Be willing to deliver medicines to PHC clinics as and when required.
