Grade 12 plus appropriate three year National Diploma (NQF Level 6) or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in the field of Natural Sciences/Environmental Sciences • 2 years’ working experience in Natural Resource Management and knowledge of the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP); Community Based Natural Resources Management (CBNRM); Environmental Education. Valid driver’s licence.
COMPETENCIES: Computer Literacy(MS Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint). Understanding of Public Service legislations, regulations and departmental policies. Good communication, writing skills, negotiation, conflict management and Supervision skills. Project management, planning and budgeting skills. Technical skills related to area of expertise (e.g. Environmental Education and Environmental Awareness).
Facilitate Environmental awareness through the Graduates projects, work directly with beneficiary groups and local authorities, provide advice and guidance, on the job training, monitoring and follow up support. Develop environmental resource materials. Implement the BKB Clean-up programme. Liaise and facilitate interaction and flow of information between stakeholders and beneficiaries. Carry administrative duties. Contribute to the good management of the Directorate• Supervise staff, service providers/implementing agents, contractors, contract workers • Facilitate training and development of project participants.
