The senior students of Roodepark School based in Roodepoort, benefited from the recent Work Readiness Event which took place on Tuesday, 7 September 2021, made possible by corporate sponsor, Investec.
The school is committed to empowering learners by equipping them with life skills, values and quality vocational education to become self-sufficient and equitable citizens that can contribute to the development of our country. Roodepark School prides themselves in their mission which states, “Every learner feels valued and inspired in our innovative education system.”
Corporate sponsor for the event, Investec provided information on opportunities available at the company for persons with disabilities. Global Head of Careers at Investec stated, “We have many applicants who join us on entry-level positions. It is based on our organisational culture and one of our main values which is home-grown talent. We do believe in taking youngsters and giving you opportunities and helping you build. We want to build your skill set, your career paths and your learning paths, and this is completely across the board.”
