Drivers urged to take action against people parking in supermarket car parks

Drivers across the UK are being urged to speak up when they see abuse of disabled parking bays at supermarkets and shopping centres.

Reports of able-bodied people misusing accessible parking spaces are rising, with charities calling for stronger enforcement and public action.

Blue Badge misuse not only causes inconvenience—it actively excludes disabled people from accessing essential services. “It’s not just a matter of courtesy, it’s about equal rights,” says campaigners from Disabled Motoring UK.

Retailers are being encouraged to train staff to monitor car parks more proactively, but the public also has a role to play. If you see it, report it.
