E.ON’s immersive ‘OffCentre’ experience makes invisible disabilities visible

E.ON launches The OffCentre, a colleague-led immersive journey that sensorially reveals the lived reality of both visible and hidden disabilities. Designed by its adaptABILITY network, this experience goes beyond awareness training—offering hands-on simulations such as sensory overload headsets, visual impairment goggles, and weighted vests that recreate daily barriers for individuals shouldering chronic fatigue or cognitive strain.

Participants also engage with candid stories from colleagues living with disability, shifting culture from compliance to empathy and unlocking conversations that dismantle stigma and foster real accessibility in the workplace.

With statistics showing nearly half of employees with disabilities face microaggressions or missed opportunities at work, The OffCentre offers a powerful intervention. It transforms hidden challenges into tangible insights and prompts systemic change—not just individual awareness.

This initiative embodies impactful workplace inclusion: immersive, empathetic, and rooted in real story‑telling and lived experience.
