Campaigners argue that slashing support services while the cost of living rises is not just short-sighted—it’s unjust. They’re urging the council not to “wash its hands” of responsibility but to demand a national rethink of policies that leave vulnerable individuals struggling to survive.

The call to action highlights the real-world consequences of benefit cuts, including loss of independence, mental health strain, and rising poverty levels among disabled citizens.

“Silence is not neutrality,” said campaigners. “It’s time for leaders to speak up and protect the dignity and rights of all residents.”
