A mask with a see-through window makes it possible to communicate with people who are deaf or hard of hearing. These masks, made by a Cape Town occupational therapist, have a clear plastic window in front of the mouth, so that people who are hard of hearing or dead can lip read.
Each mask has three layers made of denim and/or cotton and is made with a different fabric design for the outside and inside of the mask, allowing users to know which side may be contaminated if and when it is taken off.
