The Gauteng Provincial Association for Persons with Disabilities call to action for Mandela day is to challenge individuals and companies to make a difference in the lives of the disabled by donating a minimum of R67 for your 67 minutes through Mandela month.
We are encouraging companies to challenge all their employees and suppliers to contribute R67 and match the contribution made by GPAPD.
GPAPD is BBBEE compliant and we can issue a tax certificate for all your individual or corporate contributions.
Your contribution of R67 will go towards the following needs:
- Buying assistive devices such as wheelchairs for the disabled
- Buying food parcels for the impoverished disabled persons and their families who are in need
- 4 Skills development training aimed at empowering the disabled in Gauteng
- Travelling costs for our Social Workers to enable them to reach and service the disabled.
Background to GPAPD
The Gauteng Provincial Association for Persons with Disabilities (GPAPD) is a registered non-profit organization that came into existence in 2008 and responded to a provincial need for advocacy / lobbying for the rights of persons with disabilities, empowerment, mentorship to organizations rendering a similar service, skills training and job placements for persons with disabilities.
In addition, GPAPD provides Social Work services to people with disabilities, their families and significant others in and around Gauteng focusing more especially on townships and informal settlements.
