Disabled MPs fight back on benefit cuts

In a powerful show of unity, four disabled Labour MPs have spoken out in Parliament, demanding the government scrap planned cuts to disability benefits that they say will hit the UK’s most vulnerable the hardest.

The MPs — Marsha de Cordova, Vicky Foxcroft, Emma Lewell-Buck and Olivia Blake — called out the policy as short-sighted and discriminatory, warning that these changes will push more disabled people into poverty and deepen inequality in employment and daily life.

Their stand reflects a growing frustration among disability rights advocates who argue that the government must do more than make promises — it must protect real, sustainable support for people with disabilities to live and work with dignity.

At Disability Connect, we know financial security is the foundation for equal opportunity. We stand with these MPs and everyone who believes that disability inclusion starts with fair, accessible, and adequate support.

Because cuts to benefits cut deeper than budgets — they cut off futures.
