Active Gym, known for its fully inclusive facilities and adaptive programs, now operates multiple centres tailored specifically to individuals with physical, intellectual, and psychosocial disabilities. The latest locations in Christies Beach and Ridgehaven are equipped with wheelchair-accessible machines, on-site allied health professionals, and one-on-one support services.
The expansion responds to growing demand for safe, non-judgemental spaces where people with disability can exercise, build confidence, and connect socially.
“It’s about more than fitness—it’s about inclusion and empowerment,” said a spokesperson.
Each gym offers NDIS-registered services, individual support plans, and group wellness programs designed to improve both physical health and mental well-being. With barriers to mainstream gyms still a challenge for many, Active Gym’s model offers a blueprint for how inclusive design and disability-led programming can transform the fitness landscape across Australia—and beyond.
