Range sued for disability discrimination and retaliation

Range Media Partners is being sued by a former executive assistant, Michele Solis, who alleges she faced disability discrimination and retaliation after refusing an ultimatum to accept a demotion or be dismissed.

Reportedly, when Solis raised concerns about not being suitably accommodated for her disability, she was told to either accept a lower-level role or lose her job. Solis claims that following her refusal, she was effectively sidelined and terminated, resulting in her bringing both disability discrimination and retaliation claims against Range.

This lawsuit highlights ongoing challenges around workplace equity, highlighting how critical it is for companies to uphold fair treatment and take reasonable steps to accommodate employees with disabilities.
